In the society we are living in, there is a lack of awareness regarding sign language. Resulting in people who used sign languages as their way of communication, such as people with hearing impairment, could not participate in the society.
Starbucks has started their support for the signers by opening its signing store
The campaign is to support the deaf by raising awareness about sign language to the society through a promotional event by Starbucks, which is about spelling your name using alphabet sign language when ordering at Starbucks. Those who successfully spell their name will be offered to top up their drinks from tall to venti size.
As a brand that inspires and nurtures the human spirit, the campaign will be able to raise public awareness with the hope that the signers can express themselves more freely through the experience that brings more to the world than a great cup of coffee.
WHY STARBUCKS?
A pamphlet will be placed in front of the store for the non-signer customers to learn about sign language, engaging every customer to take part in the Starbucks' coffee experience.
Deafness Awareness Ribbon (silver and gold) is attached to the pamphlet and can be worn as a brooch.
